Eamonn joined our practice in 2003 and has been working in the optical industry for 30 years. His role involves glazing spectacles, ordering patients’ lenses and ensuring our lab is stocked with all of the necessary equipment we need to deliver top quality eyewear.
Something that Eamonn particularly enjoys about his role is the fact that every day is different; no two pairs of eyes are the same, and no two days in practice are either.
Outside of work Eamonn enjoys reading, quizzing and various sporting activities.
Siobhan Carty Optical Assistant
As a member of our front of house team, Siobhan can often be found meeting and greeting our patients. Her other roles include booking appointments, ordering stock and general administrative duties. And as well as providing expertise on reception, Siobhan also offers her skills and expertise to patients who require help making eyewear selections.
When asked what she likes most about her role Siobhan says, “Dealing with the patients. I like meeting new people and making them happy, especially when it comes to recommending eyewear. I’m also fortunate enough to work with a great team of individuals”.
When she’s not working Siobhan likes to read, cook, eat out, spend time with her family and occasionally visit the theatre.
Aoife McDonald Receptionist & lens expert
Aoife is a member of our front of house team and spends the majority of her time welcoming our patients to the practice. However, she has a number of other roles within the practice such as dispensing eyewear, making small adjustments to spectacles and helping patients with their frame selections.
Aoife likes spending her time getting to know lots of different people, and generally making patients happy with their new eyewear.
When she’s not busy in practice, Aoife has a busy home life too. She enjoys exercising and playing Gaelic football, attending various concerts, eating out and generally having good craic with her family and friends.
Angela Murphy Optometrist
Angela has been an optician for 21 years and as well as obtaining a Higher Diploma in Optometry from the Dublin Institute of Technology, she is also an active member of the Fellowship Association of Optometrists, Ireland (FAOI).
Angela’s primary role within practice is to get to know our patients before conducting eye tests tailored to their individual needs. She is able to fit contact lenses and dispense eyewear, including paediatric and safety frames as well as low vision aids.
Angela enjoys a number of aspects of her role and says, “I like meeting people and helping to assess and satisfy their individual needs. I enjoy advising about ocular health and working as part of a friendly, professional team.”
When she’s not testing eyes Angela likes to keep fit, read, bake and have fun with her young family.
Mary Berry Optical Assistant & Lab Technician
Mary’s time in practice is split between working front of house, greeting patients, advising them about lens choices and helping them select great looking eyewear. The other half of her time is spent in our lab glazing spectacle lenses and making general repairs to eyewear.
As well as meeting patients and aiding their search for the perfect frames, Mary particularly enjoys meeting with our reps and picking out new stock.
Outside of work Mary likes going for walks and watching GAA matches. She also likes baking and spending time with her family.
Regina Duggan Owner & Principle Optometrist
Regina developed an interest in the optical profession during her teenage years. As a spectacle wearer she spent a lot of time going back and forth to the opticians and became increasingly interested in how lenses can alter and correct your vision.
After qualifying in 1986 Regina was delighted to set up her own practice in her home town of Wexford in 1992, and has loved seeing happy satisfied patients ever since!
Outside of work Regina has a very active lifestyle, enjoying sailing and cycling, and travelling abroad to experience different cultures, and of course trying the local food and wine.
